Safe Sport Certification
USA Softball now requires all umpires to be Safe Sport Certified. You must complete this on-line course before you can be registered with USA Softball and allowed on the field for 2020. To be Safe Sport Certified you need to go to www.safesport.org, register and take the on-line course and test. You will need your umpire registration number to register with Safe Sport. Your umpire registration number can be found on your umpire ID card or you can email me and I will look it up. If I do not have access to your ID number I will request it with the Nor-Cal office.
The course and test are not difficult. However it is time consuming and takes about 1½ to 2 hours to complete. Once you complete the course and successfully pass the test, download your certificate and forward a copy to me at jimrodondi@comcast.net.
For those umpires that are already Safe Sport Certified from a previous year, you need to renew by completing the updated course. Once complete, download your renewal certificate and forward to me at jimrodondi@comcast.net.
